Casa Bonita

Casa Bonita

Casa Bonita is touted by some to be the greatest “eatertainment” in Denver while serving Mexican food to the diners. It is definitely an experience! Be prepared to wait in line to order and then again to pick up your order cafeteria style. Tables are available next to a 30 foot waterfall with divers approximately every 15 minutes. They have stage shows, musicians, an arcade, a place to take old fashioned pics, etc. For a family with children it could…

Richfield KOA

Richfield KOA

Our home for a few nights on our way to our 34 day National Park caravan. The staff was very accommodating and friendly and the sites for the most part are large and level. The town of Richfield is a home base for many ATVers and almost everyone here has one! You can easily ride from the park into the trails and mountains for all day adventures. The town also “allows” the ATV’s on the roads if you behave so…

Golden and the Art Festival

Golden and the Art Festival

Golden is the historic capital of Colorado and “Where The West Lives”. Today it is vibrant suburb of Denver with the beautiful Clear Creek running directly through town. It is also the home of Coors Brewery where you can take tours daily. While we were there it was also hosting the Golden Fine Arts Festival. Very talented artists from all over the US were there to show off their work. If you are in the area, definitely visit Golden!

Pikes Peak

Pikes Peak

Pikes Peak is a legendary mountain outside of Colorado Springs CO. Perhaps most noteworthy is the Pikes Peak road race held every year. You can hike up, ride a bike, drive up or when it reopens in 2021 take the cog railway. I was skeptical about the drive, but if you don’t look over the edge to often you will be fine. The day we went up the temperature when we started was approaching 100 degrees, but at the top…

Joe Bonamassa

Joe Bonamassa

If you love blues rock music as much as we do, you have to see Joe in person. Bonamassa started playing guitar at age four, encouraged by his father, who was an avid music fan and exposed him to British blues rock records by Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck, greatly inspiring him. At 11 years old Joe was mentored and trained by American guitar legend, Danny Gatton. When he was 12 years old, he was a genuine guitar prodigy and started opening for B.B….

Dakota Ridge RV Resort

Dakota Ridge RV Resort

Dakota Ridge RV Resort – This RV park serves as a great central point for exploring the area. The sites are definitely a bit tight, but take your time and it will work out. Some people do not like the Biker Bar (Dirty Dogs Roadhouse) across the street, but the live music was just fine with us! It definitely quiets down by 11pm. Try the Friday night fish fry (walleye and perch) if you are hungry!

Glorious Golden CO

Glorious Golden CO

Let me start by saying that having grown up as a “flat lander” the Rocky Mountains are amazing in every possible way! The scenery, views and overall beauty of the area makes it a must stop for any adventurer. Our home base was Dakota Ridge RV Resort near Golden CO. We’ll give you a quick review and some photos on this RV park as a part of an additional post. Our activities included… Friends and family – One of the…

2 Nights in Lincoln, NE

2 Nights in Lincoln, NE

Camp A Way in Lincoln, Nebraska was right off Interstate 80 and one of the most family friendly campgrounds we have visited. They have many activities for children and adults alike – Water Wars, heated pool, indoor spa, zoom flume, pedal carts/bikes, dog park, Saturday morning pancake breakfast, etc all in a shaded, beautiful area. We would highly recommend this campground as a stop for a few days.
